Nothing rings in the holidays quite like smell and taste of peppermint. As a child I used to sneak candy canes from the tree and hide them in my room to enjoy when I really should have been sleeping, and up until recently, I would fill our luggage with these holiday gems every time we visited the US to ensure we had them as part of our London festivities. As we face our second Christmas in the US, I still hold a special love for peppermint and, can’t help but fill my shopping bags with these red and white sweets every time the holidays approach.
For some people eggnog rings in the holiday cheer, in our home, it is a peppermint cocktail. This year I am going the simple route, giving up infusing vodka with candy canes for something readily prepared and simple to reach for when my the holiday spirit needs a little boost. If you love a peppermint mocha latte, you will love this ……..
